Prince Five Weapons!
On leaving the monastery, so adept was he in ways of war and martial arts, they named him "Prince Five Weapons".
He wandered through a forest and on meeting a group of hurrying villagers, was warned of a man eating Ogre, living nearby and very fierce, who had killed every man he had met.
They told the prince to turn back or divert his path but, being brave, he walked ahead and straight to the sight of a giant creature who, on seeing him began to laugh out loud. The Prince stood his ground and took out his bow.
The Ogre grew in size and straightened up. "I am Sticky Hair and you are about to die!", he roared. The very trees shook and birds flew from the branches and into the darkening sky.
He began to run clumsily towards the Prince, who was busy drawing back an arrow and let it fly, straight to the head, but all it did was stick to the hair of the beast.
He let fly 50 more arrows and all at once., These flew true but also simply stuck to the hair of the Ogre.
He drew his spear and threw with all his might at the onrushing monster but this too stuck fast to the Ogres' hair.
He reached for his club. Now the Ogre was actually upon him, so he swung and gave a mighty thwack. The club stuck fast on the hair of the Ogre.
The Prince thought "This Ogre is tough! Everything sticks to him but I am not defeated. I will punch him unconscious." He punched as hard as he could.
Of course, his right hand stuck to the side of the Ogres head. Then followed his left. He kicked the giant but his right foot and then his left foot stuck too. The Ogre had never met a man like this before. Unafraid to die.
" I will smash this Ogre into cosmic dust" thought Prince Five weapons and he did the only thing he could and head butted the Ogre. Only to find his head now stuck too.
And there he was, stuck fast and dangling like a strange doll from the giants' body.
The Ogre was confused and furious..
."What kind of man are you? And why are you so brave and unafraid of death. You know I'm going to eat you don't you?"
The Prince smiled: "Oh you won't eat me sticky Hair. You see, there's something inside of me that will rip your very sinews and tendons and cause you to explode from the inside. .
If you eat me, that's what will happen. YOU will die also, so please, do carry on."
The Ogre "Sticky Hair" considered that this man was likely telling the truth. After all, how otherwise would he have been quite so brave and reckless?
He carefully unstuck the Prince limb by limb, placed him on the ground and, falling to his knees, asked to be forgiven.
The Prince was an earlier incarnation of the Buddha and he spent time teaching the Ogre something of The Way before continuing on his journey of adventure and discovery.
