It happens to us all. So many pressures, things to deal with, cope with, live with.
Is it any surprise that at times we feel our sense of centredness creaking?
Sometimes, in order to reestablish a connection with our innate and imperturbable inner core we need to have tools with which to respond to these challenges and be more able to move on. But first we must ground ourselves.
Here is a Taoist Standing meditation that may help with this process. Please enjoy!
1. Stand with your feet about a foot apart. Keep your spine nice and straight. Tuck your bottom in and bend the knees slightly.
2. Hold your hands out in front of you with elbows bent, slightly above waist level.
3. Now inhale deeply into your Hara, the point of power about 2 inches above your navel. Feel the earth energy rise up from your feet.
4. Exhale. Feel the energy flow out through your hands. You will likely feel a slight tingling sensation. This is fine, you are not being electrocuted!
This exercise stimulates the flow of CHI energy, strengthens thigh muscles and grounds our energies by reconnecting with the earth.
